Emili graduated in 2011 from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) where he developed a strong interest in neurology. After graduation, he undertook a rotating internship in the UAB Teaching Hospital before working as an out-of-hours veterinary surgeon in Mataró (Barcelona).

In 2016, he moved to England to work in a busy first opinion practice in Liverpool and then keen to pursue his interest in neurology, he joined the Animal Health Trust as a neurology intern before completing a three-year residency in veterinary neurology at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital of the University of Liverpool. In June 2020, Emili joined Chestergates Veterinary Specialists as a neurology clinician and became a European Specialist in 2021.
