Cardiologists involved with ground-breaking research to develop new diagnostic tests for dogs and cats with heart disease

Our two cardiologists, Liz Bode and Mattia Basili, have been involved in a recent publication looking at the use of new technology to help diagnose heart conditions in dogs and cats. This publication was in collaboration with researchers at the University of Liverpool and MI:RNA Diagnostics.

The publication investigates the use of Artificial Intelligence with MicroRNAs (a family of small, non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression in a variety of biological processes) to help diagnose the most common heart condition in dogs, myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD). There are some promising results, so watch this space…
