When your pet is in the hospital we try and keep them in as much of a routine as possible in regards to their current medication or diet, (if you would like to bring it in for them, please be aware that we do not accept raw diets for patients in the hospital).
Phoning for an update on your pet
Our staff will meet every morning to make a plan for each patient for that day.
A member of the team should contact you daily to update you on your pet’s progress or when there is a change in the treatment plan. You are more than welcome to call us anytime if you are worried about your pet or need more information, please bear in mind that the veterinary surgeon in charge of your pets care may not always be available to speak to you, as they may be with other patients, but the nursing team will be happy to help.
Visiting
You are always welcome to visit your hospitalised pet at ChesterGates as long as it does not interfere with their nursing care or treatment. Sometimes your pet would love a visit and other times it can have a negative effect on their recovery. If you wish to visit your pet please contact our nursing team who will advise you if this is possible and when would be the best time, if your pet is in isolation unfortunately you will be unable to visit them during their stay.
We understand the cost of treatment can also be a worry so we will try and keep you up to date with your account daily via text message. If you require any information on or an update on your account please feel free to ask.
