Simone started working in the veterinary industry at just 16. She spent 18 years in a sole charge small animal practice operating branch and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1993, gaining both her DipAVN(Surgical) in 2003 and DipAVN(Medical) in 2005. Simone moved with the profession and became an RVN in 2007, when the register was first introduced. In 2003 she became head nurse and was integral in the implementation of the Practice Standards Scheme, which she continues to be involved with.

In 2010, Simone became head nurse of a brand new small animal hospital (Nantwich Veterinary Hospital) and took on the role of both health and safety and Practice Standards Scheme for the group (including 2 hospitals, 1 branch, an equine hospital and farm hospital). In 2020 she took the leap into referrals, starting as a surgical nurse at Northwest Veterinary Specialists before moving to Chestergates as our cardiology nurse.

Simone has a keen interest in mental health (and is a registered mental health first aider). In 2023 she completed a counselling course, and will be continuing with this in 2024. She is incredibly green-fingered and enjoys gardening in her spare time.
